Every spring, the REC grows and distributes over 8,000 seedlings to over 70 community and school gardens within REC’s UGROW network and our YouthGROW Farm, which employs over 40 Worcester youth every summer. We rely on student volunteers, work-study students, and other community partners to help us care for the seedlings throughout the spring. Comprised of various food stations along the servery in the main dining hall, students directly assist staff to prepare and serve food to the community. While prior cooking experience is valued at this position, students will enjoy learning from experienced staff how to prepare food, while following safe food practices. Students will have the opportunity to and should be flexible to the needs of the shift by working in the specific station that is assigned to them by the Executive Chef or Manager on Duty. Classics Station: This position focuses on the replenishing of the main kitchen’s prepared food items while maintaining the cleanliness of the classics station. Deli Station: With a modern, create your own sandwich set-up, student staff will assist in customizing orders for customers. This position will entail working with staff to make sandwiches and wraps for guests. Grill Station: This position varies in responsibilities depending on the time of day. During morning shifts, students will cook eggs, pancakes. For evening shifts, students will be grilling burgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs, as well as frying french fries. This experience will provide extensive cooking skills utilizing a grill and fryolator. Pasta Station: Student workers will obtain on the job training to cook the pasta and serving instructions. This position focuses on the replenishing of food at the pasta station. Stir-Fry Station: This position involves cooking both stir fried food and healthy, vegan and vegetarian meals. Depending on the time of day students will cook-to-order omelets or stir-fry creations personalized by the ingredients the customer has selected.

Under the supervision of the Customer Support Manager, Summer Technicians will assist with the physical installation and configuration of new computers and printers, as well as the decommissioning, removal, and redeployment of old equipment. They will also be responsible for performing software updates and installations in campus computer labs. Additionally, technicians will support the Technical Support team by responding to service requests from faculty and staff. Ideal candidates should possess strong customer service skills, be self-motivated, and be capable of working independently. This role requires the ability to frequently lift and transport up to 20 pounds independently, as well as perform tasks such as stair climbing, bending, kneeling, and crawling to connect or disconnect equipment. Technicians will frequently transition between buildings and may be exposed to warm summer temperatures. Due to scheduling needs, all applicants must be available to start on Monday, May 26th, 2025, and work through Friday, August 22nd, 2025. This position offers up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Summer Technicians are responsible for securing their own housing and transportation. Description: Information Technology Services provides campus-wide computing, networking, communication, and instructional technology services that support the academic activities of faculty, staff, and students. The Help Desk is one of the first points of contact and provides support through phones, chat, web and walk-in services. The Help Desk is comprised of both full-time employees and Student Computer Consultants (SCC)'s. Students do not need to be Computer Science majors to apply. ITS looks for applicants who are interested in learning, working with people, and value technology. The SCCs report to the Technology Support Manager and provide technical computer support to faculty, staff and students. The areas of support include Microsoft Windows and Mac OS operating systems, software packages, Holy Cross sites and systems, various mobile devices, various email clients, internet browsers, networking both wired and wireless, and printing. SCCs assist with computer and printer setups and retrievals, dual monitor installs, and lab support. SCCs will also work with the Desktop Support Specialists and IT Asset Management Specialist. SCCs monitor, troubleshoot and complete tickets submitted to the online ticketing system, facilitate the loaner program, data shred computers, maintain the student desk area, assist walk-in customers, cover phones, and work on other projects as assigned. The Holy Cross network (HCWireless, HCGuest, etc.) is essential to the operation of the College and its students. It is very important that ITS staff are made aware of any service outages as soon as possible. As a Student Computer Consultant, you would help by providing information about outages and general concerns with IT services, so that we may take appropriate action as quickly as possible.
